Guidelines for Application

Activities that will be considered for funding

  • Charitable donations
  • Medical and Educational Goods and Services
  • Joint Working with NHS
  • Patient Organisation support
  • Local activities in the areas of health, science and children/youth

Activities that are generally not considered for funding through this process:

  • Grants to individuals
  • Requests for grants to be spent on capital equipment or building funds, such as capital or operating expenses (e.g. office equipment, computers)
  • Website development and associated programmes
  • Religious programmes
  • Grants to individual political parties
  • Social events (such as charity balls)
  • Gap year sponsorship or electives
  • Charity fundraising outside of the UK
  • Clinical research, including Investigator Initiated Trials (these need to be requested through the UK Medical Director in writing)
  • Travel grants to individual Healthcare Professionals to attend scientific conferences
  • Exhibition stands (offers of purchasing stand space for these events need to be through your local Grünenthal representative or to the UK Marketing Director, Grünenthal Limited)

Criteria used to determine funding of grant requests:

  • Promotes excellence in patient care
  • Supports the NHS and NHS staff
  • Supports local activities which will benefit the community
  • Meets the UK regulatory requirements of the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) and Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)
